Global ITP Awareness Week 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of uniting voices across the globe to shine a light on Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP).
From Monday, 22 September to Sunday, 28 September, countries around the world will come together to increase understanding, share patient stories, and support those living with this rare autoimmune condition.
Global ITP Awareness Week is a dedicated week to help raise public awareness for the rare blood autoimmune disorder, Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP), and shine a light on the ITP patient experience.
ITP is a rare autoimmune disorder where the body’s immune system attacks platelets. Platelets assist the blood to clot, and ITP patients typically have a low platelet count.
ITP impacts approximately 1 in 10,000. It affects children and adults. There is no cure. For most people, there is no known cause. It also affects people in many unseen ways, including their emotional well-being and overall quality of life.
By increasing awareness, we can foster better understanding, reduce stigma, and build stronger support networks for the ITP community. ITP Australia and New Zealand provides information, education, support and advocacy for ITP patients and the ITP community.
