Drawing on key onsite exhibitions, students will consider various factors that influenced European attitudes to First Nations people by examining primary and secondary documents. They will reflect on the Gold Rush population increase, and how various members of the community were treated at the time. By consideration of propaganda posters, students will ponder the conscription referendums of WWI and the wider effects of the debate. Finally, womens involvement in WWII will be discussed, both on the home front and overseas and the consequences of womens movement from the home to the workforce.
