Apraxia can affect children from birth (childhood apraxia of speech) or can be acquired in childhood/adulthood due to a brain injury/stroke/degenerative condition. \nChildhood Apraxia of Speech is a lifelong motor speech disorder that affects 1-2 in 1000 children.
