DESCRIPTION:Connective Tissue Disorders Network Australia (CTDNA) support\, advocate and bring awareness to people living with a heritable connective tissue disorder (HTCDs).\nHCTDs are a group of genetic conditions affecting the body’s connective tissues. Connective tissue provides the support and structure to other tissue and organs in the body. \nMarfan syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that affects 1 in 5000 people and can be life threatening if undiagnosed. One of the areas that Marfan Syndrome affects is the aorta in the heart. The aorta is weakened and can lead to a rupture causing death.\nFebruary is Marfan Awareness Month.
