Catholic Eastern Hill
13 October at 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM$25
This walk is offered as part of the The Invention of Melbourne: A Baroque Archbishop and a Neo-Gothic Architect to be shown at the Old Treasury Building from 31 July. Drawn from the library of James Alipius Goold (1812 – 1886), first Catholic Bishop of Melbourne, the books on display are just a sample of one of the finest libraries assembled in colonial Melbourne. The walk passes by many historic sites with a Catholic connection and of course will consider the rich history of the Melbourne’s landmark St Patrick’s Cathedral.
