Your health and safety is our highest priority and in line with Victorian Government regulations we have some new measures in place:
You may book for one of two daily sessions, Monday to Friday (closed weekends).
Morning session: 10am–12pm
Afternoon session: 1pm–3pm
The Old Treasury Building will close for an hour between sessions for cleaning.
Tickets will be available 2 weeks in advance. Each new ticket issue will open on Mondays.
Please note: the booking link closes at midnight the day before, so tickets for the current day will not be available.
-there will be fewer people in the museum at one time. We have capped the number of tickets to help with social distancing.
-If you have been in the Greater Sydney area, the Northern Beaches or the Central Coast of NSW since 12 December please do not enter the building
-all visitors must wear a facemask. The mask must cover both nose and mouth (unless medically exempt). Hand sanitiser will be provided.
-all visitors must maintain a distance of 1.5m from others and follow directional signage
- we ask all visitors to supply a first name and telephone number as per Victorian Government regulations, for contact tracing if required.
-all visitors will be given an entry and exit time. This does not mean that you have to enter at the time displayed on your ticket, but it does mean that you will have to leave by the time displayed.
-when you arrive onsite, please see the person at reception to check in with your ticket.
What will be available:
-we will have 2 brand new exhibitions available for your visit! Women Work for Victory in WWII and Yarra: Stories of Melbourne’s River. Other exhibitions on the ground floor will also be open, including the very popular temporary exhibition Wayward Women?.
-unfortunately, due to issues with ventilation, the basement gold vaults and caretaker’s apartment will be closed until further notice.
