WWI, Conscription and the Propaganda War

Attempts to introduce conscription during World War I were hugely controversial. The ensuring debate has been described as the most divisive and violent in our history, with a bitter propaganda war conducted by both sides. In this lecture historian Margaret Anderson explores the graphic propaganda created during these years and explains its imagery.
