18 October at 1:00 PM - 1:30 PM

Free
In May 1875 brothers William and Archibald Paterson climbed the spire of Scots' Church, built on one of the highest points of the city, to take this panoramic photograph of Melbourne. The panorama shows a large and sprawling metropolis, with the suburbs of East Melbourne, South Melbourne and Carlton visible in the distance.

Discover what Melbourne was like in the 1860s and 70s.

Part of the ‘Wednesday at One’ free talk series. Presented as part of History Week 2017.
